This legislation provides EU wide rules for the issuing, content and sending of invoices. Directive 2010/45/EU (the Second Invoicing Directive) aims to reduce administrative burdens for businesses, increase the uptake of e-invoicing, improve the functioning of the Single Market and help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to better control tax.
