Description

Incorporated in 2004, the company based in Yorkshire (UK) has a robust market supplying construction consumables, lightweight shelving systems and trailer spares through well established builders' merchants throughout the United Kingdom. The company currently sources softwood, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wooden profile boards and marking out stakes used on construction sites from an intermediary. Now, due to a strong growth in orders, the company seeks to source the products directly from a manufacturer. The wooden profile boards are square cut, required in two sizes: 75mm x 14mm x 900mm in length 75mm x 14mm x 1200mm in length These would be delivered loose, 900 to a standard 1200mm x 1000mm wooden pallet. The current annual requirement is 80,000 per year across the two sizes. The wooden marking out stakes are terminated with a four way point and are required in six sizes: 40mm x 40mm x 300mm 40mm x 40mm x 500mm 40mm x 40mm x 600mm 40mm x 40mm x 900mm 40mm x 40mm x 1200mm 40mm x 40mm x 1500mm The stakes should be banded in bundles of 25 and packed onto a standard 1200mm x 1000mm pallet. The current requirement is for 450,000 per year over the six lengths. The company would order a full truck load of mixed product at a time and would ideally want to operate on a one month lead time. However, there is some flexibility on this to reflect preferential pricing. Consideration would be given to offering the manufacturer a 12 month, call off order if the manufacturer would be prepared to carry a buffer stock for speedier deliveries. The company is offering a manufacturing agreement to a partner who either produces the items from raw material or as a re-working of off-cuts from another wooden product manufacturing process.
