Partners sought for automated system for light signalisation of pedestrian crossing / walkway with traffic and safety control
A Bulgarian SME with experience in the R&D of specialised technologies and products and engineering solutions has developed an automated system for light signalisation of pedestrian crossing / walkway with innovative safety and traffic control. The company is looking for commercial agreements with technical assistance with interested companies and municipalities.
- Type of partner sought: the institute is looking industrial partners, municipalities, companies operating in urban planning and development; - Specific area of activity of the partner: partner sought related to road construction or urban planning; municipalities - Task to be performed: commercial agreements with technical assistance with companies or municipalities in order to implement the innovation or to integrate the solution in existing solutions / projects, as necessary technical assistance and adaptation will be provided by the developer.
The Bulgarian company was established in 2011 and has an experienced team of researchers and engineers in the field of innovative solutions applicable in urban environment, sensors, control measurement systems and devices, A pedestrian crossing is a place designated for pedestrians to cross a road keeping them together where they can be seen by motorists, and where they can cross most safely across the flow of traffic. Marked pedestrian crossings are often found at intersections, but may also be at other points on busy roads that would otherwise be too unsafe to cross without assistance due to vehicle numbers, speed or road widths. They are also commonly installed where large numbers of pedestrians are attempting to cross (such as in shopping areas) or where vulnerable road users (such as school children) regularly cross. Nevertheless, a lot of accidents still happen on pedestrian crossings due to low visibility or insufficient driver alerting and signalisation. The system gives early signalisation to the drivers concerning the presence of pedestrians indicating the direction of crossing even before they have stepped on the roadway. Every module of the system is a microcomputer which receives command about light intensity from the main computer depending on the illumination of the environment and the transparency of the air. On the basis of the data from the sensors main computer determine, which changes of intensity are necessary during the day and night, when it is raining or snowing or if fog is present. The main computer also determines the speed of the light wave, the period for signalling, etc. The normal work of the mounted light signalisation can be controlled via GPRS line in the centre for control and diagnostics of the equipment. When a pedestrian is recognised the main computer sends signals to the light modules, mounted on the roadway, and thus, signalisation is generated in the form of running light wave. The recognition of pedestrians in the crossing zone happens with specially designed for the purpose infrared sensors ensuring high reliability of the recognition algorithm. When any of the sensors malfunctions the system switches automatically to emergency mode and indicates the presence of pedestrians on both sides of the roadway to the drivers. The system also has prototypes of sensors developed to measure the traffic and speed of the vehicles passing on the roadway where the system is mounted. The SME is looking for commercial agreements with technical assistance with interested companies and municipalities in order to implement the system or to integrate the innovative solution in existing solutions / projects, receiving the necessary technical assistance from the developer.
Advantages and innovations
- the system is very accurate and has emergency mode in comparison to other similar systems. - it also has integrated safety and traffic control capabilities which have no analogue - it increases visibility and safety in comparison to known systems

- We put the right partners in touch
EEN help you find the right partner, rather than you going it alone.
Our role is to review and collate the most suitable submissions, and then send them to the client who posted the opportunity. We consult with you, and the client, to make the process professional and easy.
These are live opportunities. Your registration of interest on the site is just like a professional approach to a business at a networking event. To stand the best chance of success, make your submission really sing. Sell why the client who posted the opportunity should work with you. Excite them. Ask questions. Try and avoid copy and pasting words from elsewhere.
Once the client has chosen their partner, we'll introduce them over email and keep in touch with both parties to see how it's going. Sometimes things progress quickly. Sometimes because of changing priorities for either party, things progress slowly, but you never know - your next big business break could start right here.
