The solid-state form is likewise important to precisely describe the complex mixtures under investigation using the company's own reference data, comparing them with a vast number of polymorphs and pseudopolymorphs. Particle identification is crucial for many applications, particle size measured by scattering methods, membrane (core pore) filtration and imaging by macro- and micrographs, and several spectroscopic methods are able to evaluate fundamental information in research, development and manufacturing. There exists an unbelievable complexity in solid-chem variation of one chemical compound resulting in various entities: polymorphs, salts, cocrystals, solvates, hydrates, solid solutions and mixed crystals up to a variety in the state of amorphous materials. They can be produced, modified, identified and distinguished which is necessary for any application. The approach to the new entities can be realized by rational design, (micro) screening, in silico-screening (computational predictions) and intermediates thereof.
