Partnering opportunity

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) calibrations

An agrofood division of a Spanish technology centre is offering its NIR calibration services to companies interested in using new technologies to control their products, especially on biomass. Partnerships sought are services agreement (cereal sector, agriculture and agro-food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, environmental, clinical and biomedical field) and research cooperation agreement with any type of entity on the previous fields, for future calls in Horizon 2020 (SC-2 or SC-5).

Partner sought

Services Agreement: - Partners sought are companies, especially energy sector, cereal, agriculture and agro-food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, environmental, clinical and biomedical field. - The type of cooperation depends on the needs of the company: utilisation of the technology. Research Cooperation Agreement: - Any type of entity: companies, universities or research and technology centres interested in developing an international research and development project on Horizon 2020 on the field of the field of biomass, agrofood and environment (SC2 or SC5 topics). The technology centre offers its services to companies interested in: - Analyse their products on real time without the previous use of samples or other methods. - Determine the real energy of their biomass production and the performance of their biomass consuming facilities. - Table of costs of biomass placed in plant, according to its quality or energy contribution.

Spanish horizontally integrated technology centre, specialized in offering global solutions to companies, provides them with over 20 years of experience in developments, processes, systems and products. It operates in five economic sectors: industry, energy and environment, construction and infrastructure, agrofood, health and quality of life. The NIR technology is an analytical spectroscopic technique with great application in the industrial sector for the quantitative and / or qualitative control of products. Once calibrated, the NIR equipment allows several parameters to be analysed in less than one minute at a time, without sample preparation or reagents. The technology centre has broad experience on optimising services and developing the NIR calibration on biomass sector but also in other issues. Both industrial and academic partners are sought for services and research cooperation agreements.

Advantages and innovations

Many industry sectors, especially biomass field continuously searches for quick, direct and simple application solutions to improve quality and safety controls, both in terms of the final product and in the different stages of its production chain. The NIR technique, alone or combined with hyperspectral imaging methods and using both chemometric tools, is a technology that saves the tedious, costly and lengthy laboratory analysis that the product usually requires to control their production. So, once calibrated, the NIR technique allows time savings and increased accuracy compared to other techniques. Technology centre’s NIR technology consist on: - Control of industrial processes in several stages: quality control of raw material, intermediate or final product (determination of physical and chemical parameters) and process monitoring. - Ability to determine the potential energy of the biomass. - Table of costs of biomass placed in plant, according to its quality or energy contribution. - Implementation of the NIR technology in the company with the corresponding calibration and on-site validation. - The calibration and the annual maintenance of the system, spectra and wet process can be carried out as a whole service.

How it works

  • Tell us about yourself
  • We’ll discuss with you
  • We put the right partners in touch

EEN help you find the right partner, rather than you going it alone.

Our role is to review and collate the most suitable submissions, and then send them to the client who posted the opportunity. We consult with you, and the client, to make the process professional and easy.

These are live opportunities. Your registration of interest on the site is just like a professional approach to a business at a networking event. To stand the best chance of success, make your submission really sing. Sell why the client who posted the opportunity should work with you. Excite them. Ask questions. Try and avoid copy and pasting words from elsewhere.

Once the client has chosen their partner, we'll introduce them over email and keep in touch with both parties to see how it's going. Sometimes things progress quickly. Sometimes because of changing priorities for either party, things progress slowly, but you never know - your next big business break could start right here.
