French research center offers a new new technology for measuring the materials strength
A French laboratory has developed a new technology for measuring the materials strength and more precisely for developing a new sensor for dynamic strength. This patented technology is useful in various domains such as sport sciences, biomechanics, robotics, chiropody or orthopaedics. The French research centre is looking for technological partners for a license agreement, technical cooperation agreement or a research cooperation agreement.
The partner sought could be a university, a SME or a large company interested in a license agreement or a research cooperation agreement or a technical cooperation agreement.
The French laboratory specialised in signal treatment dedicated to optical measurements has developed a new sensor of contact strengths. Thanks to the biomimicry, this research centre has studied the effort created by the hands and feet of the animals (and more precisely for the arboreal mammals) during their locomotion. That analysis was at the origin of this innovative and patented sensor. This innovate sensor is useful for: -local force vector measurements -optical measure of deformations The targeted domains with this technology are: sport sciences and robotics, chiropody/orthopaedics, biomechanics ; and applications are for example:posture and locomotion analysis, prostheses and soles analysis, humanoid robotics, training assistance, robotics sensors. The partnerships sought are licence agreement, research cooperation agreement or technical cooperation agreement.
Advantages and innovations
Currently no solution available on the market permits to supply at the same time a measure of strength with both intensity and direction, working in difficult conditions (strong magnetic field, humidity, etc.). The developed innovation answers the above-mentioned limits. Advantages of this technology offer: - Strengths, direction and intensity measurements (applied strengths of the order of 0.1-10N, but other ranges are possible) - Spatially resolved measurements, at various points of a given surface (here a cylinder with a measuring point every 5mm, but other geometries and resolutions are possible) - Measurements made in a dynamic way (quantification at 60Hz but it is possible to go beyond that) - Adaptable to difficult conditions (humidity, limited dimensions, autonomy, impossibility to use an electric system)
