Dutch laboratory offers immunology expertise for international collaboration on in vitro diagnostic and vaccine development
A Dutch SME is offering their expertise and facilities on cellular testing to provide new in vitro diagnostic (IVD) tests and vaccines for bacterial infections. The company has developed a cell-mediated immunity test for Coxiella (Q fever) and has broad experience in Lyme disease testing and validation. They are open for contract research assignments or as SME partner in a grant application in the frame of a license agreement, a research cooperation agreement or a services agreement.
• For license agreements: Diagnostics companies in need of new products • For R&D cooperation: Coordinators/partners in grant applications such as Horizion2020 • For Services: Collaboration partners looking to outsource R&D or validation activities
The Dutch SME is a young research intensive organization. They are experts on cellular testing with years of experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry. They work closely with patient organizations and university medical centers contributing to meaningful and scientifically sound innovations. The SME focuses on intracellular infections and provides new insights in the immune response against those bacterial infections. Their mission is to significantly reduce health problems associated with infectious diseases such as for example Q fever and Lyme disease. They do so by (co-)developing diagnostic tests that allow for adequate and timely treatment. The SME also provides support in research, clinical validation and market launch/CE certification of IVD tests and in vaccine development programs. The company has its own laboratory facilities with biosafety cabinets, general lab equipment, ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay) readers and washers, centrifuges, gel electrophoresis & western-blotting equipment, an MSD (Meso Scale Discovery) Quickplex for measuring T-cell responses and ELISPOT (Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSpot assay) reader. The laboratory provides knowledge on diagnostics, immunology and product development to international consortia such as vaccine development programs and Horizon2020 projects. The clinical laboratory has direct access to human samples. The company is experienced in assessing B-cell and T-cell responses to vaccines, validating new diagnostic tests, e.g. for Lyme Borreliosis. The company is offering their expertise and facilities on cellular immunity testing and is looking for partners to provide new solutions for bacterial infections. They are open for cooperation in the frame of a license agreement, research cooperation agreement or a services agreement.
Advantages and innovations
The company has developed the worlds’ only CE-marked human interferon-gamma release assay for Coxiella. This assay will show the long-lasting T-cell memory response to Coxiella, which does provide a detailed answer on the level of exposure to Coxiella. This is of great value in pre-vaccination screening, which currently requires a skin test and serology. The company has developed an in-house Q fever immunoblot that is more sensitive than the current standard. The Q fever immunoblot will provide a higher sensitivity, a simplified workflow and a less qualitative interpretation in respect to the current standard. The clinical laboratory has direct access to human samples and a sample collection related to tick-borne infectious diseases and Q fever.

How it works
- Tell us about yourself
- We’ll discuss with you
- We put the right partners in touch
EEN help you find the right partner, rather than you going it alone.
Our role is to review and collate the most suitable submissions, and then send them to the client who posted the opportunity. We consult with you, and the client, to make the process professional and easy.
These are live opportunities. Your registration of interest on the site is just like a professional approach to a business at a networking event. To stand the best chance of success, make your submission really sing. Sell why the client who posted the opportunity should work with you. Excite them. Ask questions. Try and avoid copy and pasting words from elsewhere.
Once the client has chosen their partner, we'll introduce them over email and keep in touch with both parties to see how it's going. Sometimes things progress quickly. Sometimes because of changing priorities for either party, things progress slowly, but you never know - your next big business break could start right here.
