Slovak SME oriented on research, testing and specialist production seeks innovation and manufacturing partnerships
A Slovak company has over 65 years activity in the research of polypropylene (PP), polyester (PES), polyactic acid (PLA) and other chemical fibres, their applications, production of colour and additive masterbatches for mass-dying of fibres, films and plastics, development and engineering of equipment and machinery for chemical and related industries. They are looking for partners to cooperate via manufacturing agreement, research cooperation agreement or technical cooperation agreement.
For cooperation via research cooperation agreement or via technical cooperation agreement, technology-oriented companies, universities and research organizations interested in common R&D and commercial activities in the areas of core competence of Slovak company are sought. The areas of competence of this Slovak SME include: 1) modifications of polymeric materials using nanofillers for applications in masterbatches/compounds, fibres/textiles, films and plastics, 2) spinning technologies for nano-fibre production, 3) materials' surface modification and activation using DCSBD (Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge) plasma systems. Other type of cooperation considered could be provided by manufacturing agreement. In this case, the Slovak company offers its free production capacities in chemical production or in mechanical engineering.
The Slovak company (originally established as a research institute) was established in 1951. Its establishment was based on the need to build the own scientific, research and technology base for research, development and production of chemical fibers in the former Czechoslovakia. Nowadays, the company acts as a EU Notified Body no. 1634 in the area of textile toys. Testing and certification services are offered in special laboratories accredited by the state according to ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The company is already exporting round 50% of the own production to Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia and Hungary. The company is active in the field of production of : - colour and additive masterbatches/compounds (polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyamide (PA), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polyurethane (PU), polyactic (PLA) based), - PP staple fibers for technical and textile applications, - engineering and technology equipment manufacturing. Other expertise of this institution covers the R&D services for polymeric systems, man-made fibers and their modifications. On the other hand, the Slovak SME is active in the field of mechanical engineering and manufacturing. Production capabilities here include: - vertical milling, - horizontal milling, - conventional & CNC turning, - 4 axes CNC machining center, - table and radial drilling, - hi-precision NC drilling, - surface grinding, - cylindrical grinding - soldering, welding and plasma cutting. Regarding the mechanical engineering, the company is offering design services (e.g. mechanical engineering using 3D CAD (computer-aided design) SolidWorks & SolidCAMMill 3D workstations; Siemens PLC (programmable logic controller) based industry automation & control systems and Design authorization & CE marking in co-operation with the state body: Technická inšpekcia, a.s.), surface treatment, assembly and fitting. Moreover, to the product portfolio of this company belong: - Machinery & technologies for the production of man-made fibers - Special machinery for the polymer extrusion and processing - Machinery for the polymer processing and other chemical industry - Bespoke equipment for food-processing industry - Bespoke equipment for industrial applications - Other products and technologies: e.g. handling trollies & accessories for logistics industry, stainless-steel tanks and containers, design and production of single purpose and taylor-made machines, production of spare parts and components (also without production drawings), renovation and general repairs of machines and equipment, production of rubber covered rollers, reparation of moulds for injection moulding, contract manufacturing for OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and other engineering companies. This Slovak company is looking for partners to cooperate via manufacturing agreement, research cooperation agreement or via technical cooperation agreement. The fields of potential research cooperation could be found in "type and role of partner sought" field. On the other hand, the Slovak SME is offering its free-production capacities in the field of chemical production and in mechanical engineering.
Advantages and innovations
Long term experience with research & development activities and projects with focus on the wide range of industry applications supported with a team of flexible chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers as well as with accredited testing laboratories. All relevant products and technologies described in this profile are highly innovative and unique on the EU market often developed based on a specific client's requirement. In number of cases they create their own category of the product/technology supported with the patent in place and bring to their users new technical level and quality compared with standard solutions. For instance, diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge (DCSBD) plasma technology allows to achieve an unparalleled activation of the textile materials offering nonwovens manufacturers an opportunity to use up to 50% less surfactants for hydrophilization of their polypropylene (PP) nonwoven textiles which are being used to produce children diapers and hence savings in the consumption of chemicals, energy and advantages related to the environment are obtained.
